B-Project Release Official Apology for Missing Idol in the Anime’s Opening Sequence

B-Project has released an official apology letter from the staff and production team in charge of the anime’s third season, B-Project Passion*Love Call. They have released the official letter on the B-Project anime official X (formerly Twitter) account.

According to the letter, during the broadcast of the first episode of B-Project Passion*Love Call on October 2, the team discovered an error during the opening theme song. They realized that an idol was missing during the last CG scene of the opening sequence. That idol is Nome Tatsuhiro from MooNs.

Nome Tastuhiro is one of the main characters of B-Project and a part of a five-member unit called MooNs. Nome is described as a compassionate, serious, and pure-hearted young man who is not immune to women and is shy with other people. He is the most athletic member of MooNs and is especially good at sword fighting.

Below are screenshots of the opening sequence of episode one. Nome Tatsuhiro is in all the CG scenes during the opening theme song.

The screenshot below is the final scene of the opening sequence. Here is where the team discovered the mistake. In the final CG scene, all members of B-Project are present except for Nome Tatsuhiro.

The letter states that the cause for the error was during the final phase of the CG process when they were in the replacement part of the work. They are currently in the process of fixing this mistake as soon as possible and apologized to the fans who were looking forward to the season. They will replace the opening sequence with the new version from the second episode onward. They will also replace the opening sequence from the first episode with the new, corrected version in the Blu-Ray and DVD release. They will reevaluate their system to prevent any similar mistakes in the future.

B-Project Passion*Love Call is directed by Mutsumi Takeda with Asahi Production (studio of Hellsing Ultimate) in charge of the animation. Utako Yukihara is in charge of the original illustrations, while Tomoko Iwasa is responsible for the character design. MAGES. B-Project is a cross-media 2D idol project by MAGES. It was announced in August 2015 before it released its first production and song, “Eternal Paradise,” in September 2015. Since then, the project has grown to have an anime series, manga and stage play adaptation, and several music CDs. Crunchyroll is streaming B-Project Passion*Love Call with English subtitles.
