Chainsaw Man manga author Tatsuki Fujimoto revealed a fun fact about Kobeni Higashiyama and Hirokazu Arai along with his thought on episode 9 of the anime adaptation titled “From Kyoto” after the broadcast. The manga creator live-tweeted his reactions on previous episodes in real-time during the broadcasts, but a few hours before the new episode aired, he informed his followers of the possibility that he might be unable to do that due to his sleep at that time.
“Excuse me, tis is Fujimoto, [typo included]” the Chainsaw Man author updated his Twitter account at 7:52 p.m., about 4 hours ahead of the 9th episode’s broadcast, and announced: “I’m heading to sleep now, so I won’t possibly be able to live-tweet [on the anime].” The tweet was concluded with a recommendation: “The Menu Movie was so fun, a competitor for first place.” The American film premiered on November 18 in Japan.

“The latest episode of Chainsaw Man, it was fun!” Tatsuki Fujimoto appeared at 3:06 a.m. and continued to reveal an idea behind a scene of Kobeni Higashiyama: “In the original setting, Kobeni-chan used Arai-kun as a shield, and I actually drew a scene for that, but there was no room for it to put, so, also with the problem of consistency, I gave up. Now that I think about it, I think it could have worked!“

Animation studio MAPPA is animating the Chainsaw Man anime based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to January 2021 with a total of 11 volumes. The series’ second part is being published on Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump +. The series surpassed 16 million circulating copies with the 12th volume’s release on October 4. The anime adaptation was chosen as Anime Corner’s most anticipated Anime of Fall 2022 by fans.
