Cosplay Matsuri 2023: A Celebration of New Beginnings and Nostalgia

Looking Back at a Year Full of Anime and Cosplays and What’s to Come in 2024

Why are New Year celebrations always filled with so much nostalgia? At the beginning of a new year, there is so much talk of starting new habits, making changes, or even letting ill feelings go. While all of this is wonderful since it pushes us to move forward in life, it’s also just as important to look back and be grateful for all the good (and bad) moments. We’ve made friends, memories, artwork, music, and so many other things. That’s why Cosplay Matsuri is special — it’s the culmination of all the great moments we’ve had in the Philippines’ anime convention scene with all our friends and favorite people.

As 2023 comes to a close and the new year approaches, I feel nostalgic about all my event coverage with Anime Corner and Cosplay.ph. It’s been an honor to meet and interact with so many creative people! And so, allow me to share (one last time) my coverage for all the Cosplay.ph’s Cosplay Mania event series in 2023:

Goodbye Truck-kun!

There’s nothing else to do now but look forward to the year ahead of us. In case you missed it, the official dates of the Cosplay Mania events were also revealed: Cosplay Carnival on March 23-24, FanFes on May 18-19, Anime and Cosplay Expo on July 20-21, Cosplay Mania on October 4-6, CosMeet on October 26-27, and Cosplay Matsuri on December 28-30, 2024. Lastly, the Cosplay Carnival 2024 guests are the renowned cosplayers Xiaoyu and Larissa Rochefort.

And that’s a wrap! Happy New Year to everyone. Stay creative, and may all your anime, manga, or cosplay wishes be fulfilled this 2024.
