Crunchyroll pulled episode 11 of Orient from their platform after a request made by a production committee of the anime after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit Japan earlier today. Crunchyroll issued a notice on their website stating that the episode was postponed:
By request of the production committee, due to the earthquake earlier today in Japan, episode 11 is not available at this time. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
The episode aired on some TV stations in Japan and appears to have been available on Crunchyroll for a short period of time. It was delayed from TV Tokyo due to a special program dedicated to the earthquake, which caused numerous blackouts. There is still no information about the new release date of Orient episode 11 on the Crunchyroll streaming platform.
Orient started broadcasting on January 6, 2022. Studio A.C.G.T. is animating the series based on a manga by Shinobu Ohtaka. It is expected to have a total of 12 episodes. The anime will have a panel on the AnimeJapan 2022’s Green Stage on March 26.
The 7.3 earthquake occurred in north-east Japan, near the Fukushima region. A tsunami advisory has been issued for parts of the coast. BBC reports that no abnormalities have been detected at the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant site.
