The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody anime adaptation revealed a new trailer, along with the ending theme “reincarnation” by ChouCho. The anime begins airing this April. The information was revealed during Fantasia Bunko Online Festival 2022, which was streamed on Kadokawa’s YouTube channel.
Ayaka Ohashi is singing the opening theme song “Be My Friend!!!” for The Demon Lord Reborn as a Typical Nobody anime, that was featured in the previous trailer. Yui Ogura is joining the anime as Milim. The main cast was also previously revealed and includes:
- Toshinari Fukamachi as Ard
- Hina Yomiya as Ginny
- Wakana Maruoka as Ireena
- Ayaka Ohashi as Sylphy
- Mie Sonozaki as Olivia
Studios SILVER LINK and BLADE are animating The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody anime. Although SILVER LINK is well known in the anime community, this will be BLADE’s first major work. Mirai Minato (Jahy-sama) is directing the anime, with Takayuki Noguchi on character designs. Michiko Yokote is overseeing the series composition, while Takeshi Nakatsuka is composing the music.
The anime is based on a light novel by Myojin Katou, with Sao Mizuno’s illustrations. The light novel began serialization in 2017 on Shosetsuka ni Naro website. In 2018 Fujimi Shobo started publishing it in their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. It currently has 8 volumes. The literal translation of the original title is The Greatest Demon Lord in the History Is Reincarnated as Villager A. A manga adaptation with Misuho Kotoba’s art is also ongoing. Yen Press licensed it in English and describes the plot as:
As the most powerful entity of all time, the Demon Lord Varvatos thinks life is a big fat snore. When he takes matters into his own hands and decides to reincarnate, he calibrates his magical strength to be perfectly average. But there is no way he could have predicted that everyone in the modern world would be weak as hell, which means he is totally overpowered once again! Reborn under the name Ard, he has ladies fawning over him, the royal family begging him to become the next king, and an ex-minion insisting on killing him?! But Ard has a one-track mind, and he won’t stop at anything to achieve his ultimate goal!
