The previously announced Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO movie has released a full updated version of the key visual, which features teenage Goten and Trunks in the fusion pose along with several other characters. Krillin, Android 18 and Bulma also appear, and the movie is set to release on April 22 this year. They also announced a Summer 2022 release for North America. You can check out the updated key visual:
The reveal happened at the DRAGON BALL Games Battle Hour 2022 event, which featured several of the Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO movie staff members. They talked about the movie, saying that Gohan and Piccolo would have a prominent role and that some time has passed since the Broly movie. That’s why Pan, Goten and Trunks all seem older, and there was a joke about Teenage Gotenks also appearing. They also showed 3 clips from the movie (visuals only). You can watch the stream on YouTube (the new information for the movie comes at around the 7:06:00 mark):
Mamoru Miyano and Hiroshi Kamiya joined the cast as Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. The rest of the Red Ribbon Army cast includes Miyu Irino as Dr. Hedo, Volcano Ota as Magenta and Ryota Takeuchi as Carmine. Creator Akira Toriyama is in charge of writing for the movie, while Tetsuro Kodama is the director. Chikashi Kubota serves as an animation director and Naoki Satou in charge of the soundtrack composition. This is the first Dragon Ball project after the Broly movie from 2018, and you can watch the latest trailer:
Dragon Ball Super
Prior to the Broly movie, Dragon Ball Super TV anime series ran from 2015 to 2018 with a total of 131 episodes. Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the anime, for which they describe the plot:
With Majin Buu defeated, Goku has taken a completely new role as…a radish farmer?! With Earth at peace, our heroes have settled into normal lives. But they can’t get too comfortable. Far away, the powerful God of Destruction, Beerus, awakens to a prophecy revealing his demise at the hands of an even more formidable being. When his search for the Saiyan God brings him to Earth, can Goku and his friends take on their strongest foe yet? (Crunchyroll)
Teenage Goten and Trunks look cool in the full visual and teenage Gotenks sounds fun, and we’ll still wait for new information on the Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO Movie ahead of its Japanese premiere in April.
