Eiichiro Oda has teased 2026 plans for the ONE PIECE manga, saying that we will finally see the “the man with the burn scar” and potentially the final island only the King of the Pirates had previously reached. The iconic manga began on July 22, 1997, with a total of 1068 chapters and 113 volumes released so far. It celebrated 10,000 days of serialization on December 7, 2024.
Oda also teased that the next year will be a “year of encounters” in ONE PIECE, and you can read his full message from Jump Festa 2026 below:

ONE PIECE entered its final saga on July 25, 2022, while it exceeded 500 million circulating copies in August of the same year. Oda’s previous estimate for the manga ending was 4-5 years, which is what he said back in August 2020. He also said that the ending is already decided, and that the editors also know.
Prior to that, he said that he wanted to end the manga in 5 years back in September 2019.
The franchise has the upcoming remake by WIT Studio, as well as the 2nd season of the live-action series, which revealed Season 3 is coming soon with Season 2 set for March 10, 2026. The anime by Toei Animation is currently also ongoing and set to enter the Elbaph Island Arc on April 5, 2026.
