Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End announced a special 1st anniversary project, which will begin exactly a year since the anime first premiered on September 29, 2023. The anime will celebrate the occasion with a special theatrical screening of episodes 1-4 on September 29 in Japan. The main screening will feature the voice actors of Frieren, Fern, Stark, Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen, and will be live-streamed to six other theaters across Japan. A special visual was also revealed.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with Tsukasa Abe as the artist. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. The manga had gone on an indefinite hiatus, returning on August 7. It is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website.
The anime adaptation of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End was animated by MADHOUSE and ran from September 2023 to March 2024.
