The upcoming season 2 of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 revealed a new trailer along with a key visual. Netflix will be streaming the anime on May 23. The continuation of the anime will be animated by Production I.G. and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS.
The main cast includes:
- Atsuko Tanaka as Motoko Kusanagi
- Akio Otsuka as Batou
- Taro Yamaguchi as Borma
- Yutaka Nakano as Ishikawa
Staff was also recently revealed in full:
- Directors: Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki
- Character design: Ilya Kuvshinov
- Music: Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi
- Theme songs: millenium parade (OP: “Secret Ceremony”, ED: “No Time to Cast Anchor“)

The new Ghost in the Shell is a Netflix original anime. Netflix describes the story of the second season as:
After tracking down a source in California, Major Motoko Kusanagi and the Section 9 crew head back to Tokyo as the posthuman threat grows bolder.
Ghost in the Shell is based on a manga by Shirow Masamune. It was originally published in Kodansha’s Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Young Magazine Kaizokuban from 1989 to 1991. Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface sequel was serialized from 1997 to 2001. The manga spawned multiple movies and TV anime adaptations. Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is the latest among them.
