Girls und Panzer is celebrating its 10th anniversary on October 9 and as part of the celebrations, a special trailer has been revealed. The franchise previously announced a special project to mark the milestone. The video is a recap of all the activities within the franchise in the past decade and includes live appearances by the voice cast:
In addition to the trailer, plans for an event on November 20 have been unveiled. The event will host the cast of the anime. The cast included:
- Mai Fuchigami as Miho
- Yuka Iguchi as Mako
- Mami Ozaki as Hana
- Ai Kayano as Saori
- Ikumi Nakagami as Yukari
Actas, a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Arts, created and produced Girls und Panzer anime, with Tsutomu Mizushima as the director. Reiko Yoshida wrote the script and was also in charge of the series composition. Isao Sugimoto did the character designs, while Shirou Hamaguchi composed the music.
The original anime ran from October to December 2012, but 2 additional episodes aired in March 2013, making it a total of 13. The anime also has multiple OVAs, DVD specials, and omake specials. A sequel movie titled Girls und Panzer der Film came out in 2015, followed by Girls und Panzer das Finale: Part 1 in 2017. Girls und Panzer das Finale is a 6-movie project, which depicts the events set after the original series and the first movie. Part 2 came out in 2019, while the third and the latest movie came out earlier this year. The sequel still doesn’t have a release date. The franchise also spawned manga adaptations, as well as a light novel serialization.
