The previously-announced Gods’ Game We Play anime will air in 2024. As part of the announcement, a teaser trailer and visual has been released, as well as details on the main cast. Studio Liden Films is animating the series.
The main cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki (Black Clover, Fruits Basket, Jujutsu Kaisen) as Fay Theo Filth and Akari Kito (Classroom of the Elite, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) as Leoleshea. Tatsuya Shiraishi is directing the series, Yoshihiro Watanabe is on the character designs, and Gin is composing the music. Pony Canyon will be responsible for the music work.
The Gods’ Game We Play anime adaptation was first announced in January 2022 and is based on a light novel series written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Toiro Tomose. It started off as a web novel published on the Kakuyomu website in 2020, before being picked up by Media Factory in January 2021 under the MF Bunko J imprint.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English. The first volume is set to release this November and plot is described as:
When the gods grow bored, they decide to spice up their eternal existence by challenging all takers in an ultimate battle of wits! Of course, these deities are capricious, unfair, and incomprehensible at the best of times, so winning is virtually impossible for a mere mortal. Even so, things are bound to get interesting when a former goddess and a genius human boy team up in a bid to win the game to end all games!
