With the show fast approaching its conclusion, Gushing Over Magical Girls episode 10 kept firmly in line with all the scrumptious lewdness of the show’s prior episodes. But somehow, it managed to sneak in a few tender moments. Opening with a flashback showing the younger years of Matama Akoya (Loco Musica) and Nemo Anemo (Leberblume), it showed us how everyone Nemo tried to associate with brushed her off, and thus, she spent her time alone.
That is until Matama relieves her loneliness by offering to sing for her. Proving that introverts don’t make friends; they’re just adopted by extroverts. Yet, even though Matama had the vocal skills of a dying parrot, her kindness made an impact on Nemo, and the power of friendship won the day.
Now Kiss…
As Gushing Over Magical Girls episode 10 continues, we are shown that Loco Musica firmly believes in embracing the motto “pad my pocket, and I’ll be in yours.” She decides to change sides after the Enormita girls cheered her last performance. The fact that Lord Enorme would probably pound her like Paillard if she showed up with her tail between her legs again may or may not have also influenced that decision.
So, both she and Leberblume (who’s just along for the ride) are now before Utena asking to switch sides. And while they bring up valid points about why they should be accepted into the team, there’s a single pressing issue — they hunted magical girls, and for that, they need to repent.
Christians believe that Jesus died for the collective sins of man, but Utena believes his sacrifice wasn’t enough and lets Loco Musica and Leberblume know they need to make up for their transgressions. And how do they make up for their sins? They need to get their freak on while trapped in one of Nero Alice’s dollhouses and let Magia Baiser watch. Which, honestly, should be the apology status quo.
As the back-and-forth between the two newcomers and Magia Baiser progresses, Loco Musica, in an attempt to ruffle Leberblume, thanks Magia Baiser for her help in discovering her new voice. And she lets Leberblume know she’s no longer needed. But the thing is, we never know just how hurtful some comments can be.
Sometimes we say something expecting the other person to get annoyed, but end up saying something that completely breaks them. And here, that was the case. After hearing that she’s no longer needed, Leberblume is left in tears.
We’re shown yet another flashback which shows that Loco Musica became a villain to progress her career as an idol. On the other hand, Leberblume became one just so she could still be with Loco Musica. As the two have a tender moment after a very brief heart-to-heart, Magia Baiser channels a boomer meme and tells them, “Now kiss. Seriously, kiss, or you’re not getting out of here.”
Whether Loco Musica was already waiting for that situation can only be guessed upon. But she folded to that demand pretty quickly.
This is Totally P…
As we’re then treated to an actual seggs scene (God bless Japan), it’s important to point out that this is still the slightly censored version of the show. The Blu-ray will be lewder, so make sure to pre-order it! Or, if you’re feeling particularly spicy, drop by the cinematic airing of this episode at Cinemart Shinjuku, where you can watch this scene in a glorious 4K theater setting.
As we’re treated to what’s probably two waifus having their first time while a hot and bothered Magia Baiser watches in pure delight, it’s easy to lose track of time and fail to notice that this was a full 2 minutes, which equals 10% of the show. But as seggy time is happening, we get a pretty tender moment in which Leberblume reflects and questions her feelings for Loco Musica.
If you think that, as a heterosexual person, confessing to a friend is nerve-wracking, know you’re playing life on easy mode. The fear, doubt, and frustration that come with debating whether you should voice the feeling you harbor toward a friend of the same sex as you is pretty much the water level of romance.
But Gushing Over Magical Girls episode 10 is all about happy endings, so, after revealing their love for each other, Loco Musica and Leberblume are welcomed into the Enormita pack.
Gushing Over Magical Girls Episode 10: The Fight Begins/Wrap-Up
As the original post-betrayal Enormita 3 is chilling at a restaurant, Lord Enorme and Sister Gigante begin their attack. And as the original Enormita 3, now joined by Loco Musica and Leberblume, fight, it’s apparent that they’re still outnumbered and outmatched. To add to their misfortune, their enemies are pseudo-immortals capable of regenerating so long as Lord Enorme is still in the fight. Despite their best efforts, they’re quickly trapped by Lord Enorme’s slime monsters.
At this point, Leoparde decides she’s done with being a kitten, and now it’s time to really live up to her name, so she goes on the offensive. But while she manages to free Enormita from the slime monster that trapped them, she is easily overpowered by Sister Gigante. And as the city is pretty much being destroyed by a kaiju-sized onee-san, slime monsters, and randy anti-magical girls, there’s not a single form of civilian protection to be seen.
No magical girls, no police, no JSDF—even Godzilla took a day off on this one. So, Leoparde once more steps up to activate her hidden powers, and reveals that she actually has 4-1 stars. With that, she takes on a new transformation, but here, the background music finally lets us down and takes away from the seriousness of the scene.
Seriously, play some 200 Stab Wounds or some Sanguisugabogg during an anime fight. If a primitive power-up is happening, we need caveman music during that scene. Meanwhile, in Nacht Base, Magia Baiser and Venalita prepare for what’s going to be the most intense battle in this show. And with that, Gushing Over Magical Girls episode 10 concludes.
