Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment New Trailer Shows Some More Gameplay Ahead of Winter Launch

Nintendo shared a new trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment during its July 31 Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, offering a new look at gameplay and story scenes ahead of its previously announced “Winter 2025” launch on Nintendo Switch 2.

The game is developed in collaboration with Koei Tecmo Games, and it serves as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, covering events of the Imprisoning War. You can watch the new trailer below.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – New Trailer

Age of Imprisonment was originally revealed in April 2025 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. It will be one of the first major releases on the new console, which released on June 5 with several hardware upgrades. The new system features a larger, higher-refresh display, enhanced graphical performance, and a redesigned internal processor.

Nintendo also introduced updated Joy-Con 2 controllers that attach magnetically. One of the new features is “Game Chat,” a built-in communication tool that enables voice or video calls during gameplay via the newly added C button.
