Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME has added a new 5-star version of Kikoru Shinomiya equipped with Numbers Weapon 4 as part of its ongoing first anniversary updates. The new character arrives alongside the Special Event “Valkyrie of Aspiration,” which features a story centered on Kikoru and offers more than 1,500 Dimensional Crystals among its rewards.
We previously also interviewed Akatsuki Games, the development team of the game, who told us about the game’s goals, original content, and a lot more.
The new playable character, [The Valkyrie’s Successor] Kikoru Shinomiya, inherits Numbers Weapon 4, the weapon previously used by her mother, Hikari Shinomiya. Her optimal weapon type is Ax, with the new 5-star Ax-Freyja also introduced alongside her.
A pickup character trailer and new character art were also released.
Players can obtain more than 1,500 Dimensional Crystals through the event, along with an in-game Home background and additional rewards.
Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is available on iOS, Android, and PC.
Kaiju No. 8 Background
The game is based on Kaiju No. 8, a manga by Naoya Matsumoto that was serialized on Shonen Jump+ from July 2020 to July 2025. As of September 2025, the series has surpassed 19 million copies in circulation across 16 volumes.
The anime adaptation aired its first season from April to June 2024, followed by a theatrical compilation in March 2025 and a second season that ran through September 2025. A ‘final chapter’ anime adaptation is also in production, as well as an original short anime Narumi’s Week at Work.
