Kyojuro Rengoku From Demon Slayer Gets Cute New 2025 Birthday Illustration by Ufotable

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is celebrating the birthday of the Flame Hashira Rengoku Kyojuro on May 10, 2025, with a special commemorative illustration by ufotable. Known for marking big events, such as ChristmasNew YearValentine’s Day or character birthdays, ufotable has once again commemorated the fan-favorite late Hashira.

Kyojuro Rengoku was a key figure in the Demon Slayer franchise and the lead character in the record-breaking Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge, was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020, ending with a total of 23 volumes.

The anime adaptation by ufotable began with a 26-episode first season from April to September 2019. Its success was followed by Mugen Train in October 2020, a movie that played a major role in driving the modern anime film boom worldwide. The movie is currently running its revival screening in Japan, while it’s set to hit theaters in North America on May 14.

Mugen Train was later re-edited into the 18-episode Season 2, which aired from October 2021 to February 2022. Season 3 followed with 11 episodes from April to June 2023, and Season 4 aired from May to June 2024

Ongoing and Upcoming Demon Slayer Projects

In honor of Rengoku’s legacy, the revival screening of Mugen Train began on May 9, 2025, in Japan. Attendees were shown a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Infinity Castle movie trilogy, shown exclusively at the end of the screenings. The North American revival screenings will also feature the trailer.

The Infinity Castle arc is set to be a three-part movie series, with the first installment premiering in Japan on July 18, 2025. International releases are planned for August and September.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Countdown Project

Leading up to the film’s release, the franchise has launched the Infinity Castle countdown project, revealing a series of character visuals marking the days remaining until the premiere. The first one was Tanjiro at 97 days, and you can see each of them below:

Additionally, a sequel game titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 is currently in production and slated for release on August 1.
