Masayoshi Oishi has completed “Pokémon All Stars 1025,” a song featuring the names of all 1,025 Pokémon, as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebration. A music video that lasts approximately 22 minutes has also been released, with Mew serving as the final Pokémon named in the song.
The project covers every Pokémon from Pokémon Red and Green until Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. An earlier version featuring 213 Pokémon was released in April.
Oishi wrote and performs the full song. He previously performed “Can You Name All the Pokémon? BW” in 2025 as part of a campaign marking the release of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Scarlet & Violet expansions Black Bolt and White Flare.
The new music video was created using physical scrapbooks handmade for each of the 1,025 Pokémon. The pages feature artwork from the franchise’s history, including the video games, anime, Pokémon Trading Card Game and merchandise.
Speaking at a press event in Tokyo, Oishi revealed that recording the names of all 1,025 Pokémon felt like a marathon and that he broke down crying after reaching the final one.
“The moment I sang the final Pokémon, number 1,025, I just burst into tears. Crossing that finish line gave me a feeling I’d never experienced before. You can actually hear me crying, or rather, genuinely shouting through tears, in the recording.”
Oishi said he initially considered recording the ending again with a cleaner vocal performance, but ultimately decided to keep the emotional original take because it made the conclusion feel as though “everyone had reached the finish line together.”
“With everyone having their own attachment to different Pokémon, I didn’t want anyone to be left out. I wanted to make the song around this larger theme that everyone is a star and there are no supporting characters.”
Pokémon revealed its Generation 10 games and starters during this year’s Pokémon Day, presented during the Pokémon Presents livestream on February 27, 2026. The games are titled Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves and will release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
The franchise previously revealed numerous special anime shorts, including an anime for World Earth Day, a Dragonite-focused short by CoMix Wave Films on Pokémon Day in 2025, and the recent POKÉTOON short anime titled Wartortle and the Continuation of Summer directed by Shingo Yamashita.
Another new anime, The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, was also recently announced for 2027, as well as a new anime film, Pokémon: Wild Card. The film is being animated by studio CloverWorks and will premiere in 2027.
