A special DEATH NOTE pop-up shop will be held at Ikebukuro PARCO in Japan from March 19 to March 30, featuring merchandise and exhibits focused on the character Misa Amane (Misa-Misa). This limited-time event, titled “My Dear Light,” will offer fans an opportunity to get exclusive items inspired by the popular series.
The shop will feature many Misa-themed goods while also showcasing various items that revisit the world of DEATH NOTE and other characters. Additionally, a photo spot will be available, allowing visitors to take pictures with visuals of the main characters.
New Misa Illustration by Takeshi Obata
A newly drawn illustration of Misa Amane by DEATH NOTE artist Takeshi Obata was also revealed last month. The illustration was originally shared on February 14 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Obata’s career since his Tezuka Award semi-finalist recognition. Posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the artwork has reached over 68,000 likes and almost 4 million views.

DEATH NOTE Background
Death Note (stylized as DEATH NOTE) is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2003 to 2006, ending with a total of 12 volumes. The series was adapted into a 37-episode anime by MADHOUSE, directed by Tetsuro Araki, airing from 2006 to 2007.
It has also inspired live-action films, a TV drama, and two one-shot manga sequels, later collected in Death Note: Short Stories (2021). A new live-action adaptation was also announced in 2022. DEATH NOTE is licensed in English by Viz Media, which describes the story of the first volume:
Light tests the boundaries of the Death Note’s powers as L and the police begin to close in. Luckily Light’s father is the head of the Japanese National Police Agency and leaves vital information about the case lying around the house. With access to his father’s files, Light can keep one step ahead of the authorities. But who is the strange man following him, and how can Light guard against enemies whose names he doesn’t know?
