ONE PIECE has officially cast Miyu Irino as the new voice actor for Sabo, replacing Toru Furuya. The 36-year-old voice actor will take over the role from episode 1116, which will premiere this Sunday on August 18.
The reason Toru Furuya stepped down from the role was an affair with a fan. He had voiced the character from episode 663 to episode 1089.
Miyu Irino is well known for voicing characters like Shoya Ishida in A Silent Voice, Yuichiro Hyakuya in Seraph of the End, Ritsu Kageyama in Mob Psycho 100, Haku in Spirited Away, Jinta Yadomi in Anohana, Cyno in Genshin Impact, Sugawara in Haikyu!! and many more.
The ONE PIECE manga is written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda. It currently has 1122 chapters, while the anime adaptation is at 1115 episodes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, and Crunchyroll streams the anime. They describe the story:
Monkey. D. Luffy refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become the king of all pirates. With a course charted for the treacherous waters of the Grand Line and beyond, this is one captain who’ll never give up until he’s claimed the greatest treasure on Earth: the Legendary One Piece!
