The Monogatari series just released a special video for the final volume of the Monster Season. The video shows the entire novel series from Bakemonogatari up to its latest release, Shinomonogatari in 2021. Kana Hanazawa, who voiced Nadeko Sengoku, and Maaya Sakamoto, the voice of Shinobu Oshino, are narrating the special video:
The last two volumes for Monster Season will go on sale this August 19, 2021. Shinomonogatari tells the following stories: Deathtopia Destiny, Deathtopia Destination, and Deathtopia Death Education. The two-part volume will act as the closing story for the Monster Season, but sadly, there is still no news regarding a continuation of Monogatari franchise.
The arc began in 2017 with Shinobumonogatari novel.
Nisio Isin debuted as an author with the “Zaregoto Series” back in February 2002 and in 2006, he released the very first volume of the Monogatari series, Bakemonogatari (Monster Tales). You can read more about Nisio Isin in our biography.
In addition to the light novel series, the franchise also has a manga adaptation. Kodansha describes the plot as:
One day, high-school student Koyomi Araragi catches a girl named Hitagi Senjougahara when she trips. But—much to his surprise—she doesn’t weigh anything. At all. She says an encounter with a so-called “crab” took away all her weight …Monsters have been here since the beginning.
Always.
Everywhere.
In 2009, the franchise also received an anime adaptation by studio SHAFT. Since then, the franchise has spawned multiple seasons, OVAs, and movies.
