My Dress-Up Darling Anime Sequel Officially Confirmed As Season 2, More Information Teased for AnimeJapan 2025

The official My Dress-Up Darling anime website has been updated to confirm that its upcoming sequel will be a second season. As recently as February 14, 2025, it had only been officially referred to as a “sokuhen” (続編), meaning continuation (via Internet Archive).

You can check out the updated site page confirming My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 below.

My Dress-Up Darling returns in 2025 as Season 2

The update joins Aniplex’s recent announcement of My Dress-Up Darling‘s return to AnimeJapan this year, teasing the presentation, “Will there also be information on Season 2 on the day? Please come watch!” Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa’s voice actors, Shouya Ishige and Hina Suguta, will also appear there for radio shows at the Aniplex Booth. The anime recently confirmed a 2025 release date.

CloverWorks will return for My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 and is joined by returning staff Keisuke Shinohara (director), Yoriko Tomita (series composition), Kazumasa Ishida (character designer, chief animation director), and Takeshi Nakatsuka (music).

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 confirmed cast:

  • Hina Suguta as Marin Kitagawa
  • Shouya Ishige as Wakana Gojo
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Sajuna Inui
  • Hina Youmiyama as Shinju Inui
  • Atsushi Ono as Kaoru Gojo

As My Dress-Up Darling anime fans get excited about its return, the manga was sadly revealed this month to be ending with its next chapter. Square Enix has serialized Shinichi Fukuda’s manga series since January 2018; it will end in March 2025 with Chapter 115. Fukuda announced the conclusion with a new illustration of Marin smiling.

Crunchyroll streams My Dress-Up Darling, describing the anime:
Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world.

That all changes one day, when she shares an unexpected secret with him, and their completely different worlds collide.
