My Hero Academia Season 6 revealed a new trailer, along with a release date. The new season will air during Fall 2022, as announced during Jump Festa ’22 on Sunday. Watch the trailer below:
Season 6 will cover the Paranormal Liberation War arc, which spans over chapters 253-306 of the manga. After the worldwide success of the recent movie, My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, the anticipation for the upcoming arc in Season 6 will keep building as the days count down.
The season 5 finale on September 25th gave us a teaser of the upcoming season. Later on a key visual was also revealed.
Season 5 covered the beginning of the Paranormal Liberation War arc back when episode 107 aired. For those of you who forgot, this episode covers Present Mic and Aizawa’s visit to Kurogiri, who is later revealed to be childhood friend, Oboro Shirakumo. For reference, the chapters in the manga for this episode spanned over 253, 254, and 255.
Last season did receive its fair share of criticism for going out of order in comparison to the manga. But hopes are still high for Season 6.
My Hero Academia’s Success
With the anime currently reaching new heights, the manga is also benefitting from the series’ success. The My Hero Academia manga is the only one to reach the New York Times Bestseller List every single month in 2021 so far. Dating back to January of 2020, the manga reached the best-selling charts every single month except in June. And for this October, the series has two volumes (Vol. 1 and Vol. 29) on the bestseller list.
The series currently has 32 volumes out right now, with the most recent one releasing back on October 4, 2021.
Now that the My Hero Academia Season 6 release date is announced, what are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments! Please give a spoiler warning for those that have not read the manga.
