The previously announced Mysterious Disappearances (Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi) anime has released a key visual and a main trailer ahead of its premiere next year. Zero-G is animating the series under the direction of Tomomi Mochizuki, who will also write the anime’s script.
Two new cast members have been announced: Eri Yukimura as Oto Adashino and Yui Horie as Manami Uname. Previously announced cast members include Fairouz Ai as Sumireko Ogawa and Daiki Yamashita as Ren Adashino.
The Mysterious Disappearances anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Nujima. It has been serialized on Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits website since October 2019. Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that it has licensed the manga in English, set for release in May 2024. The plot is described as:
Ogawa Sumireko is a busty bookstore clerk who wants to become a novelist after some writing success in her youth. When strange occurrences start cropping up around the city, she teams up with her flirtatious co-worker Adashino Ren to look into them. But Ren is hiding a secret of his own! With their combined skills of occult knowledge, what will they discover as they investigate?
