The previously announced Omuro-ke‘s first movie, titled Omuro-ke dear sisters got its main visual and trailer on Thursday. The first movie is set to premiere on February 2, 2024, while the second movie will be released at a later date.
Studios Passione and Lings (Yuri Is My Job!) are collaborating in animating the Omuro-ke movies with Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World) as director. Masahiro Yokotani (The Devil Is a Part-Timer!) is writing the scripts while Kazuyuki Ueda (Love Flops) is designing the characters. Yusuke Shirato (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki) is composing the music at Lantis. The cast of the movies will be reprising their roles from the main series and they include:
- Chiwa Saito as the eldest sister, Nadeshiko Omuro
- Emiri Kato as the middle child, Sakurako Omuro
- Rina Hidaka as the youngest sister, Hanako Omuro
The movie Omuro-ke is based on a spin-off web manga of YuruYuri, written and illustrated by Namori. It currently has 6 volumes in circulation. The original manga of the series was initially serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime S magazine in 2008 before being moved over to Comic Yuri Hime in September 2010. It inspired a TV anime with Doga Kobo animating the first two seasons while TYO Animations handled the third one. An OVA by studio Lay-duce was released in 2019 to celebrate the manga’s tenth anniversary.
