ClariS has been appointed by the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series as ‘Links Partners,’ connecting the entire franchise through music. As “Link Partners,’ they’ll help promote the TV edition of Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Beginning / The Eternal Story, premiering October 12 as well as the upcoming film Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten, slated for release in February 2026.
Akiyuki Shinbo is the chief director and Yukihiro Miyamato is the director. Gen Urobuchi is writing the script while Yuki Kajiura is composing the music. The main voice cast will reprise their roles for the movie:
- Aoi Yuki as Madoka Kaname
- Chiwa Saito as Homura Akemi
- Kaori Mizuhashi as Mami Tomoe
- Ai Nonaka as Kyoko Sakura
- Eri Kitamura as Sayaka Miki
- Emiri Kato as Kyubey
The Puella Magi Madoka Magica series was created by the Magica Quartet: Akiyuki Shinbo, Ume Aoki, Gen Urobuchi, and producer Atsuhiro Iwakami. The TV anime premiered in January 2011 and ran for 12 episodes with studio Shaft animating.
Following the anime series’ main story conclusion, the franchise has since expanded into various media, including several manga adaptations, a novel by Nitroplus, a dedicated magazine, and video games. In October 2012, two recap films, Beginnings and Eternal, were released, which condensed the anime’s events with some new material. A third film, Rebellion, was released in October 2013, continuing the story with a fresh story that served as a prequel to Walpurgisnacht.
