Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini says the company hopes Solo Leveling Season 3 happens but outlined certain hurdles, sharing with Deadline, “We hope so. The [series] creators want to work on a lot of shows. Anime is really popular, so there’s a lot of demand, and so we have to find the right time to get started on the next season.”

Speaking on the appeal of the Solo Leveling anime, he said, “The most important thing is the theme of the story, it has a lot of themes from gaming. If you are an RPG player, or play first-person-shooting games, you understand it. When people see those themes in a narrative story format like this, it is new and it is different, and it is a language they speak and that makes it much more compelling.” Solo Leveling‘s producers addressed Season 3 calls just yesterday, asking for support from the fanbase.
Another game-inspired anime was mentioned in the interview — the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima anime, set to be produced by four Sony group companies: Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions. Purini also addressed Demon Slayer, stating that the production teams are yet to announce release dates for the second and third Demon Slayer films. Ahead of Infinity Castle Movie 1’s international release this summer, Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train will receive a 4K re-release in the U.S. this May.

Purini and Crunchyroll were credited on the anime as planner and production committee member, respectively. Shunsuke Nakashige directed the anime at A-1 Pictures. Solo Leveling is described:
