‘Strike the Blood IV’ is finally over! Alongside its ending is the announcement of its sequel, titled ‘Strike the Blood Final’. Likewise, the upcoming show will serve as the fifth season of ‘Strike the Blood’ series. According to its official website, it is the anime installment of the 22nd and final volume of the light novel series.

The approach of the aforementioned series is still 2 episodes per 3 months on Blu-ray/DVD. An announcement regarding the release of Strike the Blood Final is yet to be released.
In case you missed it, every 2 episodes of the anime is considered ‘1 volume’. Thus, the anime is releasing a single volume every 2 months thru Blu-ray/DVD. The previous ‘Strike the Blood IV’, which centers on Akatsuki Koujo’s battle against the chief of MAR, ended with a total of 6 volumes.
The story of the final season will continue to revolve around the lives of Akatsuki Koujo and Himeragi Yukina. However, the recently awakened Avrora Florestina will now join them. According to the anime’s previous key visual announcement, she will take a huge part on the future developments of the story.
For your information, here are the details of ‘Strike the Blood’:
Gakuto Mikumo launched the light novel ‘Strike the Blood’ in May 2011. It ended in August 2020 with a total of 22 volumes, together with an additional 2 volumes that serves as a side story. ASCII Media Works took care of its publication.
The same publisher also released a manga adaptation in Dengeki Daioh, from June 2021 until December 2016 with a total of 10 volumes. Then, an anime adaptation of it aired on the Fall 2013 season with a total of 24 episodes.
Later on, an OVA titled, ‘Strike the Blood: Valkyria no Ōkoku-hen’ aired on the Fall 2015 season with a total of 2 episodes. Afterwards, the 2 episodes per 2 months format started when ‘Strike the Blood II’ aired from November 2016 to May 2017 with a total of 8 episodes.
It was followed by ‘Strike the Blood III’ which aired from December 2018 to September 2019. Next is an OVA titled ‘Strike the Blood: Kieta Seisō-hen’ released in January 2020.
Lastly, the recently finished ‘Strike the Blood IV’ started running in April 2020. It ended with a total of 12 episodes today, June 30, 2021. Studio Connect handles the animation of the entire “Strike the Blood” series.

The fourth Progenitor is the most powerful vampire once thought to exist only in the world of legends. Yet when it appears in Japan, the government for some reason chooses an apprentice “sword shaman,” Yukina Himeragi, to observe and obliterate it. Bewildered by the disproportionate task and its specific details, Yukina arrives at the Demon District of Itogami-jima to watch Akatsuki Kojo, and a student at a private high school on Itogami-jima.
