Studio Trigger and Ado created a commercial to promote Lotte’s 60th anniversary of the chocolate business in Japan. The commercial also features a special song by Ado titled “Chocolat Cadabra.” Genki Kawamura served as the producer of the commercial.
The commercial video is set in a chocolate factory late at night and depicts a girl who wanders into the factory from the real world, meets a girl who lives in a magical world, and another girl who lives in a scientific world. Together in the commercial they make chocolate. Aside from the 30-second commercial, a 60-second version will air on terrestrial television starting January 23. Ado’s “Chocolat Cadabra” song is set to be released on January 31.
This is not the first time Ado made an appearance in a commercial. In January 2023, she was featured in a McDonald’s commercial alongside fellow singer asmi. The advertisement comes in the form of a 3D animated music video, and it includes a song by the two. The song is called “‘Tirori Mix” and is a mashup of Ado’s “Odo” and asmi’s “PAKU”, accompanied by the beeping sound of the fast food chain’s fryer machines. Japanese music producers Giga and TeddyLoid aided in the music mixing process.
Studio Trigger has a history of animating several commercials in the past few years, the most recent one being for the Omega Strikers game. It has animated several anime titles such as Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, Darling in the Franxx (co-produced with A-1 Pictures), Brand New Animal, the Promare movie, SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon. They also recently produced one of the Star Wars Vision anthology episodes (The Twins, which was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi), CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS, and the ongoing Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) anime.
Lotte is a Korean company known in fields such of candy manufacturing, beverages, hotels, fast food, retail, financial services, industrial chemicals, electronics, IT, construction, publishing, and entertainment.
