The upcoming Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- anime film has received a new key visual. The movie will premiere on September 10, 2022, in Japan. The new key visual features Kirito, Asuna, and Argo:
Argo, who first appeared in episode 3 of the original Sword Art Online anime series will be introduced in the movie. She also made an appearance at the ending scene of Sword Art Online: Progressive -Aria of a Starless Night-. Ayako Kono (Gate) is directing the anime film at A-1 Pictures (86-Eighty Six-, Sword Art Online series). The same director and studio also worked on Sword Art Online: Progressive -Aria of a Starless Night-.

Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- is the second movie installment of Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series., which narrates the early days of Kirito and Asuna in Aincrad. ASCII Media Works has been publishing it since October 2012, and it currently has 8 volumes in circulation. Yen Press licensed the Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series in English. The movie will adapt volume 4 of the series and you can read the synopsis below:
