The First Slam Dunk movie revealed a new poster ahead of the December 3 premiere. New information about the movie will be revealed on November 4. The first teaser trailer for the movie was revealed earlier this year.
Toei Animation and DandeLion Animation Studio are animating the movie. Original mangaka Takehiko Inoue is directing the movie and writing the screenplay. Yasuyuki Ebara is doing character designs and also serving as chief animation director. Check out the teaser trailer:
Slam Dunk is a sports manga by Takehiko Inoue which ran in the Weekly Shonen Jump from September 18, 1990, to June 4, 1996. It had a total of 276 chapters, compiled into 31 volumes. The manga won the 40th Shogakukan Manga Award for best shonen manga in 1994. Toei Animation produced the anime adaptation, which ran from October 1, 1993, to March 23, 1996, with a total of 101 episodes. In addition to the main anime series, the franchise also spawned 4 short movies.
Viz Media licensed the Slam Dunk manga in English and describes the story as:
