Veteran voice actor Tomokazu Seki has joined the cast of Golden Kamuy Season 4 as Fusataro Osawa. The anime is set to air this October and it will be animated by Brain’s Base, which is replacing Geno Studio.
“I have read the original work, so there is a lot of pressure, but I will do my best to express the character with care and spontaneity,” Seki said.
Tomokazu Seki has voiced several notable roles in anime, including Rob Lucci from One Piece, Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket, Shinya Kogami from Psycho-Pass, Ichiro Miyata from Hajime no Ippo, Stinger from One Punch Man, Hashida Itaru from Steins;Gate 0, Sanemi Shinazugawa from Demon Slayer, Enrico Pucci from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, among others.
Aside from anime voice roles, he has also voiced in several video games, tokusatsu series, and has also dubbed in several non-Japanese live-action films.
Season 4 of Golden Kamuy will have Shizutaka Sugahara serving as the chief director, and Takumi Yamakawa designing the characters. Meanwhile, Noboru Takagi is returning to write the scripts. Geno Studio animated the previous three seasons of Golden Kamuy, with the first and second seasons airing from April to December 2018, and the third season airing from October to December 2020. The anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump from August 2014 to April 2022. Following the ending of the manga series, a live-action film adaptation was announced.
Viz Media has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi Sugimoto searches the wilderness of the Japanese frontier of Hokkaido for a hoard of hidden gold. With only a cryptic map and a native Ainu girl to help him, Saichi must also deal with every murderous cutthroat, bandit and rogue who knows about the treasure!
