Tower of God webtoon ended its hiatus earlier today with a new episode (chapter 134) that is now available on the Korean Naver website after the platform announced its return on their social media. The webtoon has been on hiatus since the summer of 2022: it was initially announced after the release of the 133rd episode of the third season. The official reason was SIU’s health, as the author has been struggling with his work and wanted to take a break to improve the quality of the series.
The Webtoon platform, which publishes Tower of God in English, still doesn’t list episode 134 and only has a banner stating that the series will return. This is not the first hiatus for the series. Tower of God webtoon returned from hiatus in May of 2021, after starting a break in June 2020, also due to the author’s health issues. The webtoon returned both in Korean and English and even had a special trailer featuring the characters from the story.
Tower of God is a Korean manhwa that was first published in 2010 and has since been serialized on Naver’s Webtoon platform. It received an official English translation in July 2014. The webtoon also got an anime adaptation by Telecom Animation Film, which aired in the Spring season of 2020. The second season is in the works. The author’s name stands for “Slave in Utero” but is rarely used in full.
Korean fans can read the latest episodes on Naver’s website. Webtoon is publishing the English version and describes the plot as:
What do you desire? Money and wealth? Honor and pride? Authority and power? Revenge? Or something that transcends them all? Whatever you desire—it’s here.
