Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- released episode 9 this Saturday, and it was another beautiful one from WIT! The episode had 2 fronts. Matsumoto was facing Antonio on one end, while Diva was facing a young Kakitani Yugo. Kakitani turned out to actually be the human himself, only in an AI body. He’d been waiting 40 years for the chance to ask Vivy about why she said the same things as his AI piano teacher. He was even ready to drag Vivy by force when he realized Diva was different now, and he had some advanced technology. Luckily, Matsumoto managed to get some of his cubes and got her out.
Then we got some awesome action as both fights escalated. Matsumoto argued with Antonio, discussing their missions and partners. On other side, we saw Diva using her combat program for another really cool hand-to-hand fight. It had the same OST as the fight against Elizabeth! The conclusion was that Matsumoto believing in his partner was the right call, and they both managed to win. It turned out that Antonio just wanted Ophelia to sing for him and him only, showing that the AIs were already way more advanced than it seemed. Unfortunately, they didn’t get a happy ending, though it seems Matsumoto is satisfied with the conclusion. It’s unclear if Ophelia is functional at this point.
As for Diva’s side, Kakitani said that he had a revelation about this day happening. It seems that someone else knows about their time-changing mission, though obviously we don’t know who yet. Vivy and Matsumoto might still somehow be the masterminds, though that might be hard to believe after this episode. Their partnership seems stronger, though sadly Diva realized she had to disappear. She asked for one final performance, and then disappeared after a touching conversation with the still depressed Vivy.
You can watch Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- episode 9 on Funimation and vote for it as the best of this week on our weekly poll. The next episode title is “Vivy Score – Singing from the Heart” and will premiere next Saturday on May 29. It seems like Vivy lost the ability to sing, and Matsumoto even seemingly says good bye to her as she’s unable to help with the Singularity Project. Can’t wait!
