The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity will stream to a weekly schedule in the U.S. and other regions starting on September 7 with dubs available, as confirmed to Anime Corner through e-mail correspondence. Episode 1 of the anime premiered in Japan last week, with the schedule as follows:
- Japan: Weekly release from July 6 (July 5 JST)
- Asia-Pacific (APAC): Weekly release with subs starting on July 13
- Ex-APAC: Weekly release with both subs and dubs starting on September 7
Netflix previously confirmed a U.S. premiere during Anime Expo 2025, where they also shared an exclusive clip from the first episode.
Studio CloverWorks is in charge of the animation. The studio is also working on My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 and Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, which both premiered on July 5 in Japan as well. With same-day dubs already previously confirmed for The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, Netflix appears to be doubling down on the strategy of synchronized global releases. This approach may be influenced by past success stories, such as the romantic drama My Happy Marriage, where matching Netflix’s international schedule was deemed crucial for overseas growth.
In a 2023 interview with Nikkei Cross Trend, producers behind My Happy Marriage emphasized the value of fully localized launches. Seiji Kiyohara of KADOKAWA’s Global Rights Department explained that aligning subtitle and dub releases for Episode 1 was a key factor: “The key was to achieve full simulcast of subtitles and dubbing at the time of the first episode, which is the most anticipated.” Planner Daijo Kudo also emphasized this, adding that while core fans might prefer subtitles, dubbing plays a pivotal role in reaching broader audiences: “We have been doing this for many years and have come to realize the importance of dubbing.“ More on the topic can be found in our previous coverage.

One day, he meets Kaoruko, a kind girl he quickly bonds with. But things get complicated when Rintaro learns that Kaoruko attends Kikyo Girls’ High, a prestigious school for wealthy families. As their friendship grows, they have to navigate the challenges and schemes from their classmates to stay together.
