“Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 7 is here for vengeance! After finally paying off their debt, Franchouchou is back to resume their idol activities. Plus, they have a new member! The episode is titled “Maimai SAGA.”
Kotaro’s “Accident”
“Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 7 begins as it introduces the clumsy yet optimistic high school student, Maimai. Everything goes well until she gets into an accident with Kotaro —she slips on a bar of soap and terribly falls on her head! It was slightly disturbing, but overall a hilariously shocking moment!
The next thing we know, Kotaro is at the strategy meeting introducing their “newest member.” Kotaro is panicking so much and the zombie girls are also puzzled. The “corpse” starts moving and the screaming trio—Sakuro, Junko, and Ai, the same trio from the first season—make the scene even more chaotic. At this point, I was both confused and laughing out loud at this whole turn of events.
It turns out that Maimai is still very much alive and well. Fortunately, Maimai is a big fan of the idol group! She assures them that she will keep their zombie secret. In return, she asks to be part of the group and Kotaro shamelessly accepts.
Maimai is Idol Number 7
Throughout “Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 7, the zombie girls bond with Maimai. She struggles in their dance practices but nevertheless works hard. Later on, Franchouhou books a gig at Maimai’s school festival. She also brings everyone around for a school tour. Sakura and Maimai then share a heartwarming moment as they talk about life, dreams, and Saga. Sakura says that she wants to re-challenge her “failed” dreams and won’t give up no matter what.
“Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 7 proceeds as the school festival commences. It’s finally time for the new Franchouchou to perform! The zombie idols, plus Maimai, give a fun and energetic performance. I honestly found Maimai adorable, as well as the legendary Tae who was dancing so well.
After officially announcing their eighth member, Number 7, Maimai also announces her “graduation” from the group. This surprises everyone but they support her anyway as she sings her last song. Backstage, Maimai explains that after talking to Sakura, she realized that she has to live her best life right now. The girls accepts her wishes. Even Kotaro thanks her. After everything emotional and wholesome, “Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 7 comes to a close as it shows us a scene of the reporter surrounded by newspaper clippings. It seems that all of their identities, except Number 5, are discovered. This looks like future trouble!
Revenge and Dreams
Once again, “Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 7 was a wonderful episode mixed with silly humor and wholesome feelings. I think Maimai is a lovely character and I wholeheartedly love this turn of events. Just like every other person out there, I wish she finds her way soon. The show always reminds us to live life and to work hard for our dreams, no matter how many times we fail. Even though this is just an anime, it’s also nice to think about how much exposure and publicity it’s giving to Saga. Plus, Kana Hanazawa’s performance as Maimai was amazing to hear. Kaachhiing!
My favorite part of this episode is definitely that introduction. It’s for priceless comedy moments like this that I love watching “Zombieland Saga: Revenge.” I even daresay that this introduction tops Sakura’s car crash surprise back in the first season! I mean, the execution was so perfect—- the build-up, slow motion, and that metal theme song!
The preview shows us that we will finally be having a two-part episode about Yugiri. I’m really excited for this! There’s also the development of the reporter’s investigations. What does he plan to do with this information? As the conclusion of the season approaches fast, I’m really looking forward to how the story unfolds!
