MF Ghost was first announced in January 2022 and received its first full trailer in May 2022. It is based on the MF Ghost manga, written and illustrated by Shuichi Shigeno (the author of Initial D), who started serializing in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in September 2017 and currently has over 150 chapters. The story takes place after Initial D and focuses on the future in which electric cars have become an everyday sight. Kanata Rivington returns from England after graduating from a racing school. His goal is to fulfill a certain purpose through racing.
The manga can be purchased via Amazon as part of the comiXology original manga releases. Amazon describes the manga as follows:
The author of Initial D has roared back onto the track with another hit! In a near future where cars have mostly switched over to sustainable power, combustion engine racing is a rarity. The MFG is just a race, and Kanata Rivington has come to try his luck. But that’s not all he’s come to Japan to do…he’s searching for his father, too. Can even the ambitious Kanata accomplish all he’s set out to do?
