Anime distributor REMOW has announced the first-ever English-language release of the long-running Japanese anime series KochiKame (also known as Tokyo Beat Cops), along with additional series including REBORN! and True Cooking Master Boy.
All 373 episodes of KochiKame will be made available for free to viewers in North America through REMOW’s “It’s Anime” YouTube channel, with one episode released each week.
KochiKame is adapted from the manga of the same name, originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga ran for four decades, making it one of the longest-running series in the magazine’s history. The anime follows Ryotsu Kankichi (Ryo-san), an unconventional police officer, and a cast of characters including Nakagawa, Reiko, and Police Chief Ohara, centering on workplace comedies and misadventures at a local police station.
In addition to KochiKame, the “It’s Anime” YouTube channel also features English-language releases of other titles, such as REBORN!, Yakitate!! JAPAN, My Little Monster, True Cooking Master Boy, and the upcoming High School Kimengumi.
The releases are available to audiences in the United States and Canada, with REMOW encouraging viewers to subscribe for regular episode updates.
