Kaguya-sama Season 3 Cast Comments Released

Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime Season 3 is now slated for April 2022. The official Twitter account of the anime posted a special issue of the Shuuchiin academy news paper on October 21. It features a key visual, trailer, and interviews for Koga Aoi (Shinomiya Kaguya) and Furukawa Makoto (Shirogane Miyuki).

Ultra Romantic

The first question in the interview asks them about their impressions on the title, Ultra Romantic. Firstly, Koga Aoi didn’t even imagine “Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (lit. Geniuses’ romantic war)” would be away, which Season 1 and 2 had. So it really shocked her, she answered with a laugh. Secondly, Furukawa Makoto was surprised to know that the combination of “Ultra” and “Romantic” refers to a sensational development when he checked the chapter.

The official account of Akasaka Aka, the author of the manga series also mentioned the fact and said a goodbye in a tweet: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen-chan, rest in peace…

For the Upcoming Season

The second question is about their resolution on the upcoming season. Both of the voice actors reflect on the path the series has walked along as they will play their roles in Season 3. Especially, Koga Aoi will take care of Shinomiya Kaguya’s further growth and actions based on which the character supported others as a senior in Season 2. Meanwhile, Furukawa Makoto will try to give it a big try with his character, Shirogane Miyuki.

And lastly, they conveyed their messages.

The announcement was made last October, and the time has finally come!! Thank you very much for impatiently waiting long and long since then. I’m really glad to walk together with Kaguya-san and others again in the 3rd season, to share comments with you all about our favorite work, and to have the opportunity to write this message. I’d like you to look forward to Season 3 with all your might! All the people, the cast and the production staff will give it all we have got and show you the best, Ultra Romantic 3rd season!!!

…Let me tell you the truth that I am being coward. It kind of feels like I’m walking on the runway, carrying something very huge, conspicuous on my back.
