The official YouTube channel of One Piece has released a promotional video for the release of the manga’s 106th volume. The video features the song “Future Island,” performed by Hololive’s Mori Calliope.
The new One Piece promotional video release was first shown live at the Yunika Vision in Shinjuku. Mori Calliope also appeared in the promo, encouraging everyone to check out the new manga volume. She even tweeted that she received a call from Monkey D. Luffy to tell her that “he likes my singing voice”.
“Future Island” is composed by Kenmochi Hidefumi, a Japanese musician, DJ, and a member of the music group Wednesday Campanella. Both Hidefumi and Calliope have worked on the song’s lyrics.
The new music project for One Piece by Mori Calliope comes weeks after she teased a new EP titled JIGOKU 6, which will be released on August 8 this year. It should be recalled that she signed a music deal with Universal Music Japan in August 2022, where she debuted her EP called SHINIGAMI NOTE. She then debuted her major label album titled SINDERELLA in December 2022.
One Piece manga will return on July 17 after a four-week-long break due to Eiichiro Oda’s eye surgery. It will resume in Shonen Jump’s 33rd issue. It also ranked fifth in the ranking of best-selling manga titles for the first half of 2023, according to Oricon.
