The project was announced in today’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, where a special commemorative visual was also featured. It has not yet been uploaded online, but they also teased a variety of special events for the ‘significant milestone’ of the anime series. The creator of the manga, Yusei Matsui, commented:

“I never imagined that Assassination Classroom would be celebrated like this even after 10 years. It’s an honor and a joy to see fans continue to support the series.

Back in the day, Class 3-E students faced obstacles together as a team under the guidance of their teacher, Koro-sensei. Similarly, I feel like the staff and fans have become a part of this journey, supporting the story through every milestone.

I hope this celebration brings a smile to all the fans who loved Assassination Classroom, and I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the events we have planned. Let’s continue to enjoy this journey together.”

Crunchyroll streams the anime, describing the story:
Forget about homework and pop quizzes. The students of Class 3E have a far more important assignment: kill their teacher before the end of the year! A tentacle-d sensei that moves at Mach 20 is out to conquer the classroom after destroying seventy percent of the moon. In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the murderous monster behind the lectern will teach his students everything he knows about the assassination game. Should some eager beaver prove to be a quick study in killing, he or she will save Earth from extinction – and collect a hefty reward.

The series also has two live-action movies: Assassination Classroom (2015) and Assassination Classroom: Graduation (2016).

Yusei Matsui currently has another manga, The Elusive Samurai, running the same magazine. The manga began in WSJ in January 2021, with 18 volumes released so far. It also recently got an anime adaptation.
