Cells at Work Live-Action Reveals 9 More Cast Members, Updated Visual

The upcoming Cells at Work live-action movie revealed 9 new cast members, adding them to the updated version of the visual. The live-action movie will premiere in Japan on December 13. The new cast members include:

  • Shota Sometani – Helper T Cell
  • Kyoko Fukada – Hepatocyte (Liver Cell)
  • Rihito Itagaki – Rookie Red Blood Cell
  • Ryo Kato – Senior Red Blood Cell
  • Seishiro Kato – Takeda Arata
  • Ainosuke Kataoka – Streptococcus Pneumoniae (Pneumonia Coccus)
  • Shinya Niiro – Streptococcus Pyogenes
  • Maju Ozawa – Staphylococcus Aureus
  • Fukase (from SEKAI NO OWARI) – A mysterious character (role not yet revealed)

Cells at Work Live-Action Movie – Updated Visual Featuring All Characters

The previously announced voice cast for the Cells at Work live-action consists of:

  • Mei Nagano as Red Blood Cell
  • Takeru Satoh as White Blood Cell
  • Koji Yamamoto as Killer T Cell
  • Riisa Naka as NK Cell
  • Wakana Matsumoto as Macrophage
  • Maika Pugh as Platelet

Hideki Takeuchi is directing the film, with script written by Yuichi Tokunaga. They previously also revealed a trailer:

Cells at Work is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine from January 2015 to January 2021. There is also a spin-off manga Cells at Work! Code Black, which was published from 2018 to 2021.

The series received an anime adaptation by David Production, with two seasons running from July 2018 to February 2021 through 21 episodes. The franchise also has a movie and a 13-episode anime adaptation of the Cells at Work! Code Black spin-off by studio LIDEN FILMS.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyoll streams the anime. The latter describes the story:
