The game is developed by Spike Chunsoft, who previously also worked on DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI. It is the first entry in the DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series in 15 years, and released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 11. It features 182 playable characters, and you can watch the trailer for the game below.

Players can play either the Episode Battle, which lets them pick one of eight characters and relive key battle moments in the DRAGON BALL saga, or the Custom Battle, where they can try their hands at a match imagined by the developers or create their own battle situation and share it with the world.

The new Dragon Ball anime, Dragon Ball DAIMA, also premiered on October 11. It features an original story by the late creator of the franchise, Akira Toriyama.
