17 – Yuko Nishiwaki

I think Yuko is underrated as a character. Much of what I’ve seen about her online focuses on how she’s the means to unlock another Social Link. But, I think her story of slowly gaining confidence and wanting to help kids and athletes is nice. Not only that, but the voice acting for her is incredible. She has a truly conversational tone and is really one of the best vocal performances in the game.

Story arc and narrative-wise, hers is fairly simple. You meet her since she manages the track team and you slowly get to know her while coaching some kids to win a race against some sixth graders. It’s a miniature David and Goliath story and it’s great seeing her guide everyone through it.
