Every Persona 3 Reload Social Link - Ranked

11 – Mitsuru Kirijo

Mitsuru, perhaps even more so than Sanada, got a lot of development outside of her Social Link. The Persona 3 Reload story obviously has a lot to say for her in terms of growth, from her learning to share her familial guilt with the team to her father dying and her having to contend with that. On top of that, she’s a key part of Aragaki’s Link and its final scenes.

It’s perhaps because of this that her personal Social Link feels a bit bland in comparison. The first few ranks lean far too heavily on the idea that a rich girl would never have been to a fast food place. I would have rather this been a single moment within a rank rather than multiple ranks. All this isn’t to say the Link isn’t good, however. Her struggles with an arranged marriage fall perfectly in line with the balance she has to find between her own desires and what she feels a duty toward as a Kirijo.

I also think that amongst the romanceable Social Links, hers best makes romance an option rather than an inevitability, with multiple flags rather early on that can solidify the final three ranks as purely platonic. All of that growth, un-bastardized by a forced-feeling romance arc, puts her pretty high for me.
