Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Film Concert 2026 is officially expanding beyond Japan, with organizers announcing its first international performance at New York City’s iconic Carnegie Hall.
The announcement confirms that the concert will perform at the legendary Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, marking the beginning of a limited international tour. The first performance will take place on October 4, 2026.
The international debut follows the performance which took place on August 1 at Pacifico Yokohama National Hall in Japan. As previously reported, the concert combines scenes from the anime’s first and second seasons with a live orchestral performance by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Hirofumi Kurita.
Composer Evan Call, who composed music for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End since its first season, appeared as a special guest. Singer milet performed both “Anytime Anywhere” and “The Story of Us,” the ending themes from Seasons 1 and 2, accompanied by the orchestra.
Ahead of the Yokohama performances, the event also revealed a new key visual depicting Frieren, Fern, and Stark as musicians, with Frieren playing the flute, Fern the violin, and Stark the French horn.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with illustrations from Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. The manga is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.
Studio MADHOUSE is in charge of the anime adaptation. The first season was directed by Keiichiro Saito, while Tomoya Kitagawa directed the second. The series composition was handled by Tomohiro Suzuki. Reiko Nagasawa was the character designer, with the chief animation direction led by Yuri Fujinaka, Reiko Nagasawa, and Maru Takase. Evan Call composed the music. Season 3 is set to release in October 2027.
