Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will celebrate the third anniversary of its TV anime with a special Season 2 screening event on September 26, 2026. Select episodes from the anime’s 10-episode second season will be shown at nine theaters in Japan. The event will mark three years since the first season premiered on September 29, 2023.
A stage greeting will follow the screening at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya in Tokyo, with Atsumi Tanezaki (Frieren), Kana Ichinose (Fern), Chiaki Kobayashi (Stark), Tarusuke Shingaki (Genau) and Reina Ueda (Methode) all making apperances. The cast will look back on Season 2 and celebrate the anime’s third anniversary. Attendees at all nine theaters will receive a set of two commemorative postcards. One features an illustration of Macht of the Golden Land drawn by character designer Maru Takase, which was previously distributed during the Frieren special event at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles.
The second will feature a new visual commemorating the anime’s third anniversary, which will be unveiled on the day of the screening.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with illustrations from Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. The manga is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.
Studio MADHOUSE is in charge of the anime adaptation. The first season was directed by Keiichiro Saito, while Tomoya Kitagawa directed the second. The series composition was handled by Tomohiro Suzuki. Reiko Nagasawa was the character designer, with the chief animation direction led by Yuri Fujinaka, Reiko Nagasawa, and Maru Takase. Evan Call composed the music. Season 3 is set to release in October 2027.
