Frieren Real Escape Game Sequel Reveals New Visual, Expands to More Locations in Japan

The second collaboration between Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and SCRAP’s Real Escape Game series has revealed its main visual and confirmed additional venues in Japan.

Titled Escape from the Village Where Demons Lurk, the new event follows last year’s Escape from the Thousand-Year Dream, which drew more than 30,000 participants across 15 cities. This time, players will join Frieren and the original Hero Party to battle demons occupying a remote village.

The new visual features Frieren with Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen, and you can check it out below.

The event will open at Real Escape Game Harajuku in Tokyo and run from September 10 until December 6. Additional stops have also been confirmed for Real Escape Game Shinsaibashi in Osaka from October 16, Real Escape Game Nagoya from October 29, and Nishitetsu Hall in Fukuoka from January 27, 2027.

Earlier this year, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End revealed a new visual for its orchestra film concert ahead of its August performances, and recently confirmed that the concert will expand overseas with its first international performance set for New York’s Carnegie Hall. Season 3 is set to release in October 2027.

Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with illustrations from Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. The manga is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.

Studio MADHOUSE is in charge of the anime adaptation. The first season was directed by Keiichiro Saito, while Tomoya Kitagawa directed the second. The series composition was handled by Tomohiro Suzuki. Reiko Nagasawa was the character designer, with the chief animation direction led by Yuri Fujinaka, Reiko Nagasawa, and Maru Takase. Evan Call composed the music.
