Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has revealed a special new visual to mark the third anniversary of the anime’s first broadcast in September 2023. The announcement was made during a special Season 2 screening event, attended by the main voice cast.
Alongside the new visual, the official account also reminded fans that Season 3, which will cover the Golden Land Arc, is now just one year away from broadcast. Season 3 is set to release in October 2027.
The new anniversary artwork shows Frieren, Stark, and Fern celebrating with a “ridiculously huge hamburger,” with the original Hero Party reflected in the window. You can check it out below.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with illustrations from Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. The manga is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.
Studio MADHOUSE is in charge of the anime adaptation. The first season was directed by Keiichiro Saito, while Tomoya Kitagawa directed the second. The series composition was handled by Tomohiro Suzuki. Reiko Nagasawa was the character designer, with the chief animation direction led by Yuri Fujinaka, Reiko Nagasawa, and Maru Takase. Evan Call composed the music.
