Funimation Fall 2021 Anime Lineup

The Heike Story

Episode 1 of The Heike Story aired on Funimation on September 15 and will continue to air throughout October. Its release comes an entire season ahead of the broadcast in Japan, which is set for January 2022. Additionally, the anime is based on an epic of medieval Japanese literature called The Tale of the Heike.

Taisho Otome Fairy Tale

Another promising new series for the Fall 2021 season is Taisho Otome Fairy Tale is based on a manga series by Sana Kirioka. The anime will be available on Funimation on October 8. In addition to staff information, the series also received a new trailer and info about its OP.

Rumble Garanndoll

One of the few original TV anime on this list, Rumble Garrandoll will debut on October 11. The series also revealed a new visual and 2nd trailer earlier this month.

Selection Project

The Selection Project TV anime is a multimedia project and will premiere on Funimation on October 1. The project also includes a manga which launched on July 11 on Square Enix’s Manga Up app.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon – The Second Act

One of the long-awaited returning series on this list, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon – The Second Act is the second installment of classic series InuYasha‘s sequel. The series will broadcast on October 2 and recently revealed a new promotional video.

Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress Season 2

Season 2 of Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress is the sequel to Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress, the latest addition to the Cardfight Vanguard franchise. The new season will premiere on Funimation on October 5 and will have 13 episodes.
