HAIKYU: The Dumpster Battle movie is coming to Netflix in select territories in Asia on October 31. The movie had one of the biggest opening weekends in Japan following the February 16 premiere, with a Blu-ray & DVD release also announced for October 30. Netflix shared a trailer on the official X account, which you can also watch the YouTube upload (region-restricted).
This is the first of two final movies for the Haikyu!! franchise. It covers the 3rd round nationals match between Karasuno High and Nekoma High in the long-awaited “Dumpster Battle.” Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama lead Karasuno, while Kenma Kozume and Tetsuro Kuroo present the biggest challenge on the other side. The showdown highlights more members of each team, making for a thrilling match.

Haruichi Furudate wrote and drew the original Haikyu!! manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. It ended with 405 chapters, compiled into 45 volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.
Production I.G was in charge of animating both the movie and the TV anime. The first season aired in 2014, followed by the second one which started in Fall 2015 and finished in Winter 2016. Season 3 ran for 10 episodes in Fall 2016, covering Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa match. Season 4 was titled Haikyuu!! To the Top, and it ran for 25 episodes over two cours – Winter 2020 and Fall 2020. In addition to the TV anime and recent movie, the franchise also has multiple recap movies, OVAs, side stories, stage plays and games.
