My Hero Academia: You’re Next movie has revealed a new trailer for the ending song, teasing the original characters Giulio and Anna’s past. The movie premiered in Japan on August 2, and its box office has exceeded 23.8 billion yen ($164 million) as of August 18. It had the biggest opening for the franchise. The new trailer features the ending song “Gift” by Vaundy.
My Hero Academia: You’re Next is also the first movie in the franchise’s history that received a release in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema for its opening. It will premiere in North America on October 11 with both Japanese subbed and English dubbed screenings.
My Hero Academia anime is based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, which was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024. It ended on August 5, getting commemorative illustrations and messages from animators and fellow authors, along with the launch of a global character popularity poll.
The manga received its first anime adaptation by studio BONES in 2016. It received 6 more seasons in the following years, with the 7th season currently ongoing.
